HELLO AND GOODBYE
We are very pleased to say we are up to our full complement of doctors. Dr Emma Blunsum has recently left the Practice and we wish her all the best for the future. We are delighted to welcome Dr Kim Knowles, who has joined the team. We are also delighted to welcome two new practices nurses to the team Eunice Tagboto and Charlotte Harper who are here to assist with a range of services including chronic disease management and contraception please ask at Reception for more details.
AUTOMATED ARRIVALS
We now have up and running at both Silverdale and Ryecroft a new arrival screen in the waiting room. This is designed to shorten the queues at busy times and free the Reception Team up to deal more effectively with patient queries. All you need to do is tap on the screen to enter your sex and date of birth and your appointment will automatically be displayed alerting reception and your doctor or nurse that you have arrived for your appointment. Reception staff will still be on hand to help until you have become accustomed to the new check-in system Please feel free to give it a try.
F2 Doctor and GP Registrar
The Practice is an established teaching Practice and trains both undergraduate and post gradaduate doctors. We currently have one registrar and a foundation level two doctor who is a junior doctor attached to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. www.northstaffsvts.com/ A new doctor under the F2 rotation scheme joins the practice every four months in this training post to complete their experience before embarking on a future career - Dr Khalid is our current F2 doctor until the end of July 2008 and Dr Ambreen is our current registrar with us until October 2008. On occasion you may be asked to participate in a video surgery which is used as an assessment tool.
IMPROVING OUR SERVICE
We should like to thank all of you who very kindly completed the patient satisfaction survey again for us last year. We were delighted with the high response rate. We have looked very closely at the results and areas where improvement could be achieved. Accessing the surgery by telephone was again identified as needing improvement. We wish to remind you that you can now use the internet to:
order your repeat prescriptions
to make some doctor appointments
to cancel any appointment
It is also possible to make some doctors appointments and cancel any appointment by using the red button on your digital TV remote control.
Interested? To register for both of these services please ask at Reception for further information.
We are pleased to tell you that two patient lines are now up and running at Ryecroft and Silverdale. This should make a significant difference to telephoning the surgery, especially at busy periods in the mornings. Please still try to ring for results in the afternoons.
STAFF TRAINING
Due to staff training on Wednesdays, Reception does not open until 9am.
